Oily skin can be troublesome, especially for many young people. A small consolation may be that oily skin is said to prevent some of the wrinkles that come with age. Oily skin is characterized by a shiny T-zone (forehead, nose and chin) and for instance enlarged pores and pimples.

Cleansing. Be extra thorough with your cleansing routine if you have oily skin. Cleanse your face both in the morning and the evening, but avoid using products that risk drying out the skin. If the skin is deprived of its natural oils the sebaceous glands will react by producing even more sebum! Instead, choose products that leave the skin clean and fresh at the same time as they soothe, balance and add moisture.
Moisturising. Choose a moisturiser that fits your skin, preferably one that will add lot of moisture. Oily skin does not need a rich cream, instead opt for lighter day and night creams that can add a lot of moisture and that quickly can be absorbed by your skin. If you have very oily skin, you can try to only use a moisturising serum and skip the cream altogether.
Remove dead skin cells and unclog pores.
Treatment. Use a gentle enzyme peeling once or twice a week to remove dead skin cells, dissolve blackheads and prevent new breakouts. Enzyme peel is an exfoliating mask, without scrubbing beans, that contains AHA- and BHA-acids (salicylic acid) that have a deep cleansing effect and that will keep your skin fresh and luminous. Avoid using exfoliating products containing mechanical scrubbing beans in your face since they may damage your skin.
