Emmas Best Feel Good Tips
Making sure I take care of my skin every day is for me a given. I cleanse and moisturise my skin with my favourite products in the morning and in the evening, and when needed – show some extra love with a peel or a mask. It’s like a little ritual where I give myself a good start to the day or before bed. Even if skincare is a natural part of my daily routine, there are also other things that make me feel good. Here are a few of my favourite feel-good tips.
Phone detox. Silence your notifications after a certain time in the evening and try going for a walk without your phone, music, podcasts and appreciate the sounds around you instead.
Prioritize your sleep. Okay, I know this is a hard one if you have kids, but I really try to force myself to sleep in on the weekends if I have the opportunity. Personally, I struggle sleeping in, but sometimes I’ll just stay in my bed and keep my eyes closed and hopefully fall back asleep. I don’t always succeed, but when I do it’s a nice time to recover.
Incorporate movement in your daily routine. I usually plan the upcoming week where I find time to exercise. Things like scheduling in a walk during lunch break one day and booking the gym classes I want to participate in. It really doesn’t have to be every day, but at least three times a week is ideal for me.
Keeping a gratitude journal. I write three things I’m thankful for, and no not every night, but it’s nice and good for the brain. It doesn’t always have to be a big deal, just little things that might make me happy but are sometimes easily taken for granted. I bought a cute little notebook that I always keep on my nightstand.
Being in the company of good friends. Make time during the weekday for dates with friends. Go for a walk, to the cinema or maybe an after-work drink. It doesn’t always need to be so major, sometimes you just want to check in on each other and catch up.
